
Jason Lanham is entering his second season as the head coach of the Lady Bulldog soccer team, making him the seventh head coach in the program's 16-year history.
In his first year, 2008, Lanham directed Union to the program's largest turnaround in history by winning 14 games after winning seven the year before. Under Lanham's leadership, the squad had a honorable mention NAIA All-American and the AAC Player of the Year. A total of five Lady Bulldogs landed on the All-AAC team.
Before taking over the helm, Lanham served as an assistant coach for the Lady Bulldogs during the 2007 campaign. He also was an assistant on the Union men's soccer team for two seasons.
Prior to coming to Union, Lanham spent three seasons as the head women's coach at Grant County (Ky.) High, posting 10-7-1 record in 2005. In 2004, Grant County posted a 11-5-3 record as it won the regular-season district championship.
Lanham has assisted both the Kentucky and Ohio South Olympic Development Program as an evaluator in the early pool stages. Since its inception, he has toured with Kentucky Youth Soccer as an instructor for the Summer Camp Tour that the association implemented in 2007. Lanham is also involved with the Nike Kentucky Rush Soccer Club where he has been the head coach of the U18 girl's premier team the past two seasons.
Before his college years, Lanham graduated from Ryle High School in 1994. While at Ryle he was team captain while being All-District, All-Region and Team MVP. In the mid-1990s, he attended Northern Kentucky University and was a redshirt member of its nationally ranked program in 1994 under the late John Toebben. He completed his undergraduate degree at Union College.
Lanham currently resides in Barbourville.

Camila Mendes is beginning her second season as a member of the Lady Bulldog coaching staff.
Mendes is no stranger to Union College nor to the Lady Bulldogs as she played on the women's soccer team from 2001-04, helping the Lady Bulldogs to back-to-back NAIA National Tournament appearances in 2002 and 2003.
The Campinas, Brazil native ranks eighth in program history in goals scored (33), ninth in assists (23) and eighth in points (89). A four-time All-Conference selection, Mendes was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2004. She was also recognized as a NAIA All-American honorable mention in 2002, 2003 and 2004. In addition, Mendes was named the Union College Female Athlete of the Year in 2004-05.
After leaving Union, Mendes continued her playing career as a member of the Blackburn Rovers in England in 2005, on Requios FC in Japan in 2006 and on Real Dimension in Trinidad in 2007, helping Real Dimension capture the national championship.
In 2008, Mendes coached Naparima U16 Boys team in Trinidad.
Heather Jaques will move from being a player at Union College to an assistant coach for the 2009 season.
Jaques ranks seventh in program history for most career goals scored (39). In addition, she became the eighth player in Union history to post at least 100 points with 39 career goals along with 22 assists. In 2008, Jaques completed her playing career last season by scoring 12 goals with eight assists.
A three-time All-Appalachian Athletic Conference selection, Jaques was selected a NAIA All-American honorable mention and was named to the All-NAIA Region XII First Team in 2007.
The Manitoba, Canada native came to Union after playing a season at Mayville (N.D.) State University.
