Keith Williams II enters his first season as the Union women’s soccer programs assistant coach in 2013.
Williams came to Barbourville from the Maine Maritime Academy, where he served as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s soccer teams last season. In 2012, both teams were vastly improved, with the men’s team winning 10 games for the first time in 10 years, while the women’s team won five matches, a huge improvement from a wineless 2011 campaign.
Williams entered the coaching ranks off a stellar career at the University of Maine Fort Kent, where he played from 2008-11, leading the team to a USCAA National Championship on 2010.
In 2008, Williams scored 29 goals (the third highest mark at the end of the season in the NAIA), on his way to Rookie of Year honors in the Sunrise Conference. In 2010, Williams earned a spot on the NAIA All-American Team as an Honorable Mention pick, and to the USCAA All-American Team. Williams made the Sunrise’s All-Conference team three times (2008, 2009, 2010) throughout his career, as well.
While a student at Maine at Fort Kent, Williams served as the President of the Student Senate, and was a Community Mentor in the school’s resident life department. He also served as the Student Representative on the University’s Presidential Cabinet and Board of Trustees.
Williams earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Financial Services and Business Management from Maine at Fort Kent in 2012. He resides in Barbourville.
