Whitney Erb has been tabbed has the new head volleyball coach, making her the 10th person to take the helm of the Lady Bulldogs.

Prior to assuming the head coaching duties, Erb served  as the team's assistant coach during two separate terms. The Sarasota, Fla. native spent one year as the team's assistant in 2005 before serving as an assistant at NCAA Division I Seton Hall (N.J.) University. While as a member of the Pirates' staff, the team posted a 16-14 overall record in 2006.

In 2007, Erb returned to Union as an assistant coach as the Lady Bulldogs captured its first-ever Appalachian Athletic Conference regular-season championship.

She has also coached the Cut Shot, Birmingham and Alabama Junior Volleyball clubs. She also traveled with the Bring It Promotions International Volleyball Juniors Summer Tour to Austria, Italy and Crotia in 2003 and 2004, and to Greece in 2007. In June of 2008, she will be coaching a club in Nicaragua.

A 2005 graduate of the University of Montevallo (Ala.), Erb was a four-year member of the Lady Falcon squad.

Prior to Montevallo, Erb played for Sarasota High and the Whitesands Volleyball Club. She was a three-time All-Area Selection and helped her team win the regional championship in 2000 to place 11th at the nationals finals that year.
