
Bobby Segal is entering his first season as a member of the Union College baseball staff.
Prior to coming to Union, Segal spent much of 2007 working in the Cincinnati Reds organization by splitting time in Cincinnati and the Sarasota Reds, an minor-league affiliate of the Reds. During his time with the Reds, Segal working in the baseball operations department and assisted with advanced scouting and helped with pre- and post-draft operations.
A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Segal received his bachelor's degree in sports marketing/manangement from Indiana University in Bloomington. He was a four-year member of the Hoosiers' varsity baseball team and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors three times.
Segal spent five seasons working for the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians. From 2000-02, he served as a bat boy and worked as a member of the grounds crew during the 2003 and 2004 campaigns. In his first year with the team, the Indians defeated Memphis in the Triple-A World Series.
In addition, Segal was a game operations intern for the Indiana Pacers in 2005 as well as travelling across the country with an entertainment company called the ZOOperstars in 2005 and 2006.
Segal is single and resides in Barbourville.
