Jason Lanham is entering his second season as the head coach of the Lady Bulldog soccer team, making him the seventh head coach in the program's 16-year history.
In his first year, 2008, Lanham directed Union to the program's largest turnaround in history by winning 14 games after winning seven the year before. Under Lanham's leadership, the squad had a honorable mention NAIA All-American and the AAC Player of the Year. A total of five Lady Bulldogs landed on the All-AAC team.
Before taking over the helm, Lanham served as an assistant coach for the Lady Bulldogs during the 2007 campaign. He also was an assistant on the Union men's soccer team for two seasons.
Prior to coming to Union, Lanham spent three seasons as the head women's coach at Grant County (Ky.) High, posting 10-7-1 record in 2005. In 2004, Grant County posted a 11-5-3 record as it won the regular-season district championship.
Lanham has assisted both the Kentucky and Ohio South Olympic Development Program as an evaluator in the early pool stages. Since its inception, he has toured with Kentucky Youth Soccer as an instructor for the Summer Camp Tour that the association implemented in 2007. Lanham is also involved with the Nike Kentucky Rush Soccer Club where he has been the head coach of the U18 girl's premier team the past two seasons.
Before his college years, Lanham graduated from Ryle High School in 1994. While at Ryle he was team captain while being All-District, All-Region and Team MVP. In the mid-1990s, he attended Northern Kentucky University and was a redshirt member of its nationally ranked program in 1994 under the late John Toebben. He completed his undergraduate degree at Union College.
Lanham currently resides in Barbourville.
