Tim Curry is beginning his ninth season at the helm of Union College Lady Bulldog basketball program. The Columbia, Ky. native became the program's seventh head coach in March of 2001, and he is the first male to ever hold the position.
In eight seasons at Union, Curry has taken the Lady Bulldog program to new heights as he owns a 145-115 record while at Union in becoming the program's winningest coach and a 237-227 career coaching record. In 2002-03 alone, Union set a program record for wins in a season with 25 and a school-record for most 3-pointers made in a season with 296. The Lady Bulldogs won the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament and advanced to the NAIA Division II National Championship Tournament for the first time in school history. Union made a return visit the the national tournament in 2006-07 as it upset the top three seeds in the AAC Tournament to win the title and earn an automatic berth.
The 2007-08 season saw the Lady Bulldogs win both the regular-season and tournament championships as they advanced to the NAIA Division II National Championship Tournament for the second year in a row and third overall. Union tied the school mark for wins as it went 25-9.
In 2008-09, Curry guided the Lady Bulldogs to a 20-11 overall record, marking the first time in program history Union posted back-to-back 20-win seasons and three winning seasons in a row.
Under Curry, the Lady Bulldogs have had two Third Team All-Americans and one All-American Honorable Mention. In addition, he has had two Appalachian Athletic Conference Players of the Year, one AAC Defensive Player of the Year, one AAC Freshman of the Year and four First Team All-Conference selections.
Curry arrived at Union College after serving six seasons as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Bluefield College in Bluefield, Va. During his tenure at Bluefield, the Lady Rams enjoyed the most success in the history of the women's basketball program. Curry departed Bluefield as the winningest coach in the programs history while leading the Lady Rams to their first-ever national rankings.
While at Bluefield, Curry also served as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Head Men's Golf Coach following a two-and-a-half year stint as Interim Director of Athletics at the Appalachian Athletic Conference school.
A 1989 graduate of Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky, Curry began his coaching career at his alma mater in several different positions including Assistant Women's Basketball Coach, Assistant Baseball Coach, and Head Women's Softball Coach. Curry also spent one season at St. Catharine Junior College in Springfield, Kentucky as the Head Women's Basketball Coach and Head Baseball Coach.
Curry is married to the former Susan Feltner of Manchester, Kentucky and they reside in Manchester with their son, Jacob Austin, and daughter, Madison Leigh.
