Zack Vogelsberg - Assistant Coach - 3rd Season

Zack Vogelsberg is entering his third season with the Lady Bulldog basketball program.

In his first season with the Lady Bulldogs, Union recorded a 25-9 overall record and won both the 2007-08 Appalachian Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships. Union also advanced to the 2008 NAIA Division II National Championship Tournament for the third time in school history.

Union posted a 20-11 record in 2008-09, marking the first time in program history the Lady Bulldogs recorded back-to-back 20-win seasons.

During his tenure, Union has produced a Third Team All-American twice as well as back-to-back Appalachian Athletic Conference Players of the Year.

Prior to coming to Union, Vogelsberg worked at Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minn., where he was the assistant women's basketball coach for one year. With a young and inexperienced team in 2006-07, Saint Mary's posted a 7-18 record with a wins coming over Carleton College for the first time in 10 years and against the University of St. Thomas to avenge a 52-point loss with an eight-point win.

Before his stint at Saint Mary's, he served one year as the assistant coach at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Md., which went 18-10 overall 2005-06 and advanced to the ECAC South Region Postseason Tournament.

Vogelsberg served three years as the assistant coach at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn., from 2002-05. While there, he helped bring a team that had won under five games for seven consecutive seasons to double-digit wins by the time of his departure.

A graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in marketing and a minor in psychology, he is pursuing Master's in health and physical education while at Union. During his tenure at Iowa, he served four years as a manager for the women's basketball team as well as a practice player.
