Brooke Smith-Sanders joined the Lady Bulldog coaching staff in the summer of 2010 and is now stranger to the program.
Smith-Sanders spent four years as Lady Bulldog, finishing as the program's all-time leading score with 2,772 career points. A three-time NAIA Third Team All-American, Smith-Sanders was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year three times and was the AAC Freshman of the Year in 2006-07.
During her playing days, Smith-Sanders helped lead Union to two AAC regular-season championships, two AAC Tournament titles and two NAIA National Championship Tournament appearances.
Smith-Sanders finished her playing career with nine program records. She also is the only player in Lady Bulldog history to score at least 500 points in a season four times. In addition, Smith-Sanders ranks as the program's second-leading rebounder with 979 career boards.
Smith-Sanders is married to Jeremy Sanders.
