Lindsy Little enters her first season as the assistant softball coach at Union College, being named to the position in July of 2010.
After making the hire of Little, head coach Danny Fish commented, "I am extremely excited to have Lindsy joining our softball program, as well as the Union Bulldog family. I feel she will be a great fit for our team and our athletic department."
Fish went on to say, "In terms of coaching, I feel Lindsy brings a unique dynamic to the recruiting front in that she knows what it's like, as well as what it takes, to play for me. While coaching Lindsy at Maryville I knew she was a good player, but I was also knew she would one day make a great coach and I was happy to afford her that opportunity." Little played under Danny Fish from 2006-08.
A two sport standout in volleyball and softball at Maryville, Little was an eight time All-Conference award winner during her tenure as a Scot. Little helped lead the volleyball and softball teams to five Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) regular season championships, three in volleyball and two in softball. Of the five GSAC championship teams, three advanced to the NCAA D-III post season tournament, two in volleyball and one in softball under the direction of current Union softball skipper Danny Fish in 2007.
A Kappa Delta Pi (International Honor Society in Education) member, Little also earned the J.D. Davis Award (annual honor given to Maryville's female athlete of the year) as a senior in 2010.
"I am extremely excited to be involved with such an outstanding program here at Union College," commented Little. "I am also very excited to work with Coach Fish after having the privilege of playing for him at Maryville. I feel like it will be a great opportunity to learn from a great coach."
Little graduated from Maryville College in 2010, with a Bachelors degree in Child Development with Teaching Licensure. A native of Maryville, Tenn., Little now resides in Barbourville, Ky.
