Fernanda Frey joined the Lady Bulldog coaching staff in August of 2010.
A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Frey pieced together a five-year collegiate career and earned accolades on and off the court along the way.
She began her career at Lake Land Community College in Mattoon, Ill., playing outside hitter for coach Jessica Hills. Frey earned All-Region honors during both her freshman and sophomore seasons.
After her time at Lake Land, Frey completed her collegiate playing career at NCAA Division II Newberry College in Newberry, S.C., playing for former Union coach David Nicholson. Frey spent three years at Newberry, two as a player and one as a student assistant during a red-shirt season. She garnered accolades on and off the court while at Newberry, earning All-South Athletic Conference Preseason Team during her senior season, making the Dean's List all three years and graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Frey led Newberry in kills and kills per set during her senior season and was second in hitting percentage and third in digs.
She graduated with a degree in physical education-leisure services.
